At Karma Journey Co., we focus on education, inner work, and awareness with the purpose of empowering individuals to better understand and navigate the challenges that arise in both career and life.
Very early in my counselling education, I was taught that “everyone is the best judge of their own life.” That understanding has stayed with me and continues to shape how I work with every client.
As a counsellor and coach, I am trained to continually examine my own values and biases. I remain committed to ongoing self-reflection and personal growth, supported by
my own trusted coaches and therapists. This matters because it ensures that the power always lies with the client.
Yes, a power dynamic exists in any therapeutic or coaching environment. The practitioner holds the space but not just any space. It must be a non-judgemental space. A space where you can bring your challenges, your confusion, your questions, and your uncertainty without fear of being diminished or directed.
I will hold the container. But the power of choice, direction, and insight remains with you.
It is also important to understand that much of the real work happens outside the session.
Awareness is created together. Integration happens in your real life in conversations, in decisions, and both in moments of discomfort and clarity.
Career and life coaching may feel more mainstream today (depending on who you ask). Universities across the world now offer coaching to Gen Z and younger generations. Some millennials may remember speaking to a careers advisor during high school or university.
I have worked with clients whose parents invested in coaching before university, giving them clarity or at least the tools to navigate their next chapter. The impact of that early guidance often stays with them for years. And when they reach another crossroads, they seek support again.
At the same time, we are living in a period of rapid change. Restructures. Layoffs. Shifting industries. The growing presence of AI.
All of this affects our wellbeing.
Every person is navigating some form of challenge in life and work. However, depending on our lived experiences, some of us are managing far more complex layers at once. Without the right support and understanding this complexity, this can for some people become overwhelming, leading to decision fatigue and a loss of hope for the future.
At Karma Journey Co., we are intentional about expanding both access and awareness. We believe that support should be inclusive, culturally responsive, and available to people from diverse backgrounds, identities, and experiences.
The benefits of coaching should not be reserved for those with financial advantage or insider knowledge.
And because life and career are not separate. They never have been.
When one shifts, the other responds.
Part of our work is creating space to learn and unlearn and to build awareness, deepen understanding, and gain practical tools for navigating complexity with greater confidence.
Through the work of Bill Burnett and Dave Evans, we integrate the Designing Your Life methodology into our coaching.
When I pursued further studies, I chose the RMIT program in Careers Education & Development because it incorporated the Designing Your Life framework. It aligned with how I understand growth and decision-making, not as a single right answer waiting to be discovered, but as something to be explored and designed one step at a time.
I later became accredited as a Designing Your Life Coach, learning directly with Dave and Bill how to apply this work in both one-to-one and group coaching settings.
This approach encourages us to prototype possibilities rather than wait for certainty. To test ideas. To question assumptions. To expand what feels possible.
It invites experimentation instead of perfection.
